I was hoping to get some help on figuring out how much to sell my Macbook Pro for. Its time to get a new one, I need something lighter and I' d like to sell my current pro, but I've had a hard time establishing a price for it. Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Its a 15 inch, Macbook Pro 6,2 (Mid- 2010)
- 2.53 GHz Core i5 (I5-540M)
- StdRAM: 4 GB
- Storage: 500 GB (5400 RPM)
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M
- VRAM: 256 MB
- Anti-gloss screen option
- Microsoft Office Mac
- Adobe CS6

The MBP's condition is extremely good. A couple scratches on the bottom from lifting it off my desk but aside from that the unibody is flawless. The thing works flawlessly still.

Thanks

You should be able to get $50 - $100.

For real... About $800-$1100. I would price high and ask for less every 2 weeks that it don't sell. Don't be quick to lower the price.

Start at $1200 and go down $50 every 2 weeks till it doesn't sell.

Price to sell would be about $750

I would say.....

$750-900, if the computer dont have cosmetic or functional issues. The software dont have use if you cant transfer it legally to new owner....

:):apple:

Thanks everyone, I like the idea of starting around 1200 and going down $50 every week or until I get a reasonable offer. I didn't realize Macbook depreciated at a faster pace than BMWs lol.

Well they hold their resale value better than any other computer. Then again, you are trying to sell a 3 year old machine.

Yea I definitely understand. I feel like the bigger MBPs don't hold their value as well as the 13's, maybe its just me though. But once all was said and done taxes included it was a $2200 (ish) machine not including the software tossed into it, so getting 60% of what I paid for it 2.5 years ago is a a bit of a bummer, but hey what can you do right? lol
