how much can i sell my powerbook for

I have a powerbook G4 12'' that a friend of a friend wants to buy from me, i dont really use it, how much should i sell it considering that guy is not my friend and i dont want to make a friend price.

i alswo have 768mb ram in it, dvd burner, 80GB hd

the prices on eBay are much lower than i expected - i'm seeing prices as low as US$500 for loaded 12" PBs. of course, you should expect to get at least double that but i would draw the line at US$1200. of course, i don't know what condition it's in or what extras you might include.
 
I think you guys have it all wrong. Ebay is a good indicator of what people are willing to spend on a computer. Actually, it's an indicator of the maximum someone would spend. If you can sell it on Ebay for only like 500, I wouldn't be expecting anything near 1200 US. Maybe you could get 800 or so, but 1200 come on...

3 months ago they didnt have a free CS3 beta out. Prices will drop when that is release. $1000 to much, should be around $600-700 max if you have all the boxes.
 
Has anyone checked out the prices on refurbed Macbooks and Macbook Pros lately? I'd say that has something to do with the drop in Powerbook resale value.

The size of the 12" Powerbook is great. But, even people who are size whores will have a hard time paying the same price, or more, for dead end technology.
 
Mine went for 750.00 US

I sold my Powerbook 12" 1GHz maxed RAM, 80 giger, Combo drive on eBay about three months ago. It sold for 750.00 USD, and that was after I had listed it three times and lowered the Buy It Now from the initial 950.00. I think your friend's offer is reasonable, take it an run while you still can.
 
As a consumer, I would love a 12 inch Powerbook. This is simply because there is not a 12 inch MacBook pro. That being said, I wouldn't pay much more than $500 for it because it is sitting dead in the water in terms of technology. If I was going to spend more than $500, I would just put it towards a low end MBP and cope with the size.
 
ok thanks 900 it is, hes not really my and also considering that there is no apple store anywhere in town or in the province.
