How much could I expect to get from selling my Mac?

Well, if the 970's do indeed come out next week, im going to need some major mula for one. I would like to sell my PowerMac along with my Monitor. Here are the specs.

PowerMac G4 Dual CPU 867MHZ
Combo Drive
768MB DDR RAM
Airport Card
Extra USB ports (via PCI card)


Princeton 15" LCD Monitor 400:1 contrast.

I would LIKE to get around 1600 for all this, and I got this figure from seeing what refubs go for and subtracted 100 bucks from that, and added 200 for the LCD. What do you all think I could get for this?

$1600 for the whole package sounds good but you should see how the new 970s are priced before a definate answer is reached...

I wouldn't expect major price dropoffs on the G4 systems when the 970s are released but they will definately lose some of their value.

do you have another mac to work on, because i would sell this on ebay before 970's come out. you could make a hell of a deal because many people on ebay wont be aware of apple and the 970's. because if all the rumors are true about the 970's, nobody is gonna want a g4.

I totally agree with ijon. $1600 seems fair now, but once the 970s come out, if they are as fast as expected and reasonably priced, I for one just wouldn't pay a lot for a G4.

well im not going to use eBay, i have had some bad exp. with it and just dont want to do it anymore. I was thinkin trying to sell it locally.

Similar spec machines are going on ebay for between $1600 and $1900.

you will also be able to get away with selling it on ebay if the 970's do come out, because trust me, not everyone will be aware of the new computers, and there will people on ebay willing to pay top dollar for that machine, its just more people will be willing to pay now. decision is up to you. if you have access to a credit card thingy you can sell only by credit card, that why nobody can get ripped off.
