What is the max ammount i could get back on my 3G? i have to take it to apple and get it replaced (the camera messes up alot) but maybe 400? 500? it's an 8gb model.

Sell it on ebay. Do a 7 day on sat at 3:00pm at 0 dollars, no reserve.

You'll get the most for it.

You should get decent money for it, but I wouldn't expect to get much more than $250 being the new iphone will be out soon... When the new one comes out a lot of people will be putting there's on e-bay and they won't get squat for them...

I see unlocked 16GBs going for $500 on the local Phoenix Craigslist. These prices are astonishing. First generations are still fetching $250 locally. Try Craigslist.

I just got 585$ a couple of days ago for mine. Did a three day auction on ebay. Had a similar situation where phone was replaced, and sold unused. I'd do it quick though. I saw unlocked and jailbroken iPhones selling alot higher. I put in my listing that I would jailbreak if desired. I should add I included 4 cases, all original accessories, Sennheiser earbuds, and a Zagg shield. But the former posters are right, waiting will probably rake in less since WWDC is now 4 days away. Good luck!

Check if your carrier is on this list with a tick in the unlock offered column:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937

Then call them up to ask them to send the unlock down to your iTunes. Do a restore and be greeted with the massive "congratulations" message in iTunes. Then sell it.

Officially unlocked iPhones work in every country, seamlessly work with all updates and don't require jailbreaking. They fetch more on eBay.

Agh, i live like 2 hours from the closest apple store..i need more time..oh well, i need just enough to be able to get the new one, if i even want it that is.

I put my white iPhone 3G on eBay buyitnow for $500 and someone offered me $450 like 15 minutes later. I took his offer.

Reviving this thread a bit...

Apple just replaced my iPhone 16GB Black tonight because of a bad battery. It has a case on now and I activated it through iTunes....

Now here is my questions...how do I sell it? I can get the 32GB for $500 and I have no problem with that if I can get over $500 for the iPhone. Can somebody please break down the process for selling it? Won't ATT know that iPhone is no longer activated under my number and name? Any help would be great. :)

ebay, jailbreaking it will get you more. do a 3 day auction, include the case. i think youll at least get $400-$450 since its 16GB. you usually wont see any action until last minute. att goes by your number not your phone. also if theres any warranty left advertise that.
