Probably a n00b question but I can't seem to find a clear answer using Google.

I am looking to switch data plans. Im in the UK and currently use Three's "all-you-can-eat" £15 pay as you go sim plan but want to get more value for money as I only get 300 minutes, 2000 texts. I end up eating through the minutes quickly and realise I don't really use too much data as I am normally connected to Wi-Fi.

Typically, using 3G/4G only I will browse maybe 30-40 web pages a day, check news apps maybe 5 times a day, use Alien Blue for reddit maybe 5-10 times a day, refresh a few text based apps (like live football/soccer scores) and maybe watch 2 or 3 standard def YouTube videos a day, each around 2 mins or so. I also occasionally use twitter/facebook.

Basically, the only thing I stream is a couple of short YouTube videos a day. I will only watch Netflix or anything data heavy at home on WiFi.

However, I'm going to start using an activity tracker app which tracks your run routes/progress and maps them. I assume this is done just via GPS tracking but are these apps data heavy? E.g. if I am using the MapMyRun or Nike Running apps which track routes will I be using 3G/4G data as well as GPS? If so, how data heavy are they?

Considering my normal usage AND the additional data from using an app like this, what kind of data tarriff should I be looking at?
