I'm a bit confused and think I may be taken for a ride by AT&T. When I purchased my new 13 Pro Max and agreed to trade in my iPhone 11 Pro Max (256GB), the system told me I would get a $1,000 credit and my new phone would only be an additional $2.xx a month. I have a screenshot of this promo. Of course their phone and chat reps are useless.

Now, AT&T has changed their promo to be only up to $800 and since its taken them so long to process my trade in, they are only offering me $799 for my old phone. So, can others who have traded in through AT&T from a purchase made on the date of phone release post what they have gotten from AT&T? I feel like they are now going back on their original promo since it has changed since the phone was released as its taking them forever to process. Thanks.

I caught the original promo deal. The deal was $800 in bill credits over 36 months for an iPhone X. I believe the original promo was $1000 in bill credits for 36 months for iPhones from the XS and later (admittedly, I'm not 100% sure on that). Promo deal that you get depends on the date that you ordered. I believe the promo deal that went up to $1000 in bill credits ended after 10/14, so the deal should apply if you ordered on 10/14 or before.

For myself, it went smoothly. I ordered on 9/28. It shipped 10/6 and I received it 10/7. I got my "trade-in kit" on 10/12 and I also activated the phone on 10/12. I dropped off my iPhone X on 10/15 and they received it on 10/18. I just found out on 10/29 when I got my bill that I got the $800 in bill credits.

I talked to someone on the phone. That person was pretty helpful and they put me in touch with the trade-in team to walk me through the process because I had never done a trade in before. You should talk specifically with a trade in specialist. They have a department or team dedicated to trade ins.

Thanks but tried that. The only thing they keep telling me is that it is UP to $1,000 and that the phone is evaluated once it arrives to determine how much credit that I get. I guess that's why they keep it vague on what devices get which promo amount so they can screw people over. I'm getting nowhere with 3 different departments.

Curious to know if anyone received the $1,000 credit. I ordered my phone on launch day and had my old phone sent back the same day they sent me the return box.

Yes, I got $1000 for my XS Max. I got a 13Pro and will get Approximately $28.00 off my monthly bill for the next 3 years. I did this the first week of October. My phone arrived in the mail 4 days later, I took my XS Max back into the AT&T store. I received a text from them last week stating my credit will begin next month.
