I have the macbook pro, and I found applecare off ebay for $170 shipped from someone reputable :D

I got my macbook pro in october for $1699, my edu store had a discount of 100 off on top of the edu discount because they weren't going to be getting any computers in with leopard pre-installed for a while (and as incentive to buy it from them over Apple store).

Good deals :D

Nothing! Apples last longer than PCs (or so I've heard), are more reliable, and are just better so why would I need Applecare? :D

I bought mine at LA Computer Company for my Powerbook G4. It was the least expensive I could find at the time, around $250 I think. They even called me after I ordered to see if I needed the activation code sooner than the shipment would arrive (to activate it before the end of year 1).
