Hi. I'm comparing which is cheaper. To buy a factory unlocked iPhone for almost usd1000 or go with a plan with fido Canada. In their site they are saying cdn299 for the iPhone 3gs 32gb plus what kind of plan is needed? Or free if u get a plan worth how much and lock in for how long? How much did you pay for yours with what kind of plan? Tks
 
Just for the record :p, I paid £159 ($260) (CDN $284)for my iPhone 3G 16GB, bundled with a £35 18 month contract.

But yes, call Fido for exact pricing, and draw your own conclusion.
 
Rogers or Fido require you have a data plan in order to get the iPhone at the 199/299 price.

I suggest going on Fido's website, or calling, seeing what kind of plans you like. You should be able to get something decent for $60/month, maybe less.
 
I think I paid $430 for my phone + apple care. Later i returned my apple care because I was told I wouldnt need it plus I jailbroke my phone.

Best part was i kinda got it free. I went to the casino the day before and won $700 :p
 
I paid $240.00 for the 32GB after taxes, thanks to my Best Buy Reward points.

when i signed up for the iphone 3G i wasnt required to get a data plan
 
so iphone doesnt come in free for most right? i cant call fido since im in the philippines right now. cant understand if fido is refering to add on data plan for $7 or other more expensive data plan. thanks for the infos anyway.
 
$399(US) + sales tax .. so around $430 for my 16GB 3GS.

Sold my old 8GB jailbroken/unlocked 3G on ebay for $350..

So net cost for new 3GS = $80 + an extra yr of service with ATT.

I'm happy :)

Well, I've always bought AppleCare and all my iPhones have been JB. AppleCare also increases the resale value when I'm selling iPhones. And congrats on your casino win...:eek:

Exactly the same here but I sold mines to my manager at work for $380 :D:D:D
 
My iPhone 2G I paid 350eur when I was in Ireland. I bought it from the US and unlocked it.

The 3GS I'll be buying when it's back in stock here in Australia will be AU$1039 which is....

520 pounds
605 eur

Crazy prices I know but it's for the 32gb and it's factory unlocked. So when I move out of Australia in the new year and head to London I'll be able to pop in a British sim and not have to spend hours unlocking it :)
 
$500 for the iPhone that I got from the AT&T corporate store because I lost my old phone…

Then $850 x2 for a black and a white iPhone factory unlocked.

I'm happy. :)
