How much do you guys think that Youtube paid to be included in iPhone and iPod touch? Does anyone know?

I figure nothing at all, why would youtube pay to be on a phone when they have really no chance to make revenue because they have no ads on the iPhone youtube. If anything youtube is loosing money on the iPhone because they still have to pay for the bandwidth and are not getting anything in return

Lest we forget the strong relationship apple and google have and google being the parent company well this was bound to be a plentiful deal for all involved.

They're gaining product placement and name recognition, just like google is getting product placement with safari. It becomes the default for things.

People look at videos on youtube and then theoretically, through word of mouth it becomes the standard. people tell their friends to "youtube" something, versus another video site. So, just as google is a norm, youtube solidifies itself as a norm.

People aren't going to exclusively use their iPhones for internet anyway. It's cool, but it's limited, and when you have access to a 13-30 inch screen, why would you stick with your tiny iPhone screen to watch videos and surf the web? You're bound to pick up people who previously hadn't used youtube.

Yea, but really how many people with access to computer, have never heard of youtube?

small amounts
That number dwindles to almost 0% once you factor in the type of people that use an iPhone. Not exactly the "late majority" or the "laggards" group.
