I was thinking of selling my 2010 macbook pro MC374LL/A, but not sure how much I should expect to get for it.

I have upgraded it to 8 GB of ram (from 4), and it has a crucial m4 256GB SSD in it instead of the 250GB 5400 RPM. I have also upgraded it to the newest OS, and would include Microsoft office 2011. Condition wise, I would say its 8.5/10, just a little wear and tear, but the screen and everything is in very good condition. I also have the original box/documents!

Only reason is I want to get the new macbook air, as I realized I never use my optical drive anymore.

So just wondering... thanks all!
 
I would also be interested in the answer to this. I have pretty much the exact same laptop but with a 128gb ssd. I have mine up for $775 on Craigslist and haven't had any luck. Of course, everyone on my local craigslist are lowballers...
 
I would say....

$750-800 tops. Depends in remaining AppleCare (if any), no cosmetic/functional issues and good care of the machine.

If selling through an online site, dont forgot to factor in shipping costs/fees

Hmm I was hoping it would be worth a bit more than that. How much less do you think it would be worth if I put in my 250GB 5400 back instead of my SSD? I paid $170 for the SSD, and I hoped that my laptop would be worth around $850 at least.

I'm happy to hear that you have taken such good care of your MacBook Pro. To be honest, I would list it for $1000. That way, people will lowball you, and you might even get $800 for it.

Another good place to sell your laptop is eBay. You might even be able to get more if you sell the MacBook there.

Just a fyi, I sold my macbook pro (withOUT the ssd- just the standard 250gb 5400 that comes in the macbook pro) for $725. I ended up buying the 2012 macbook pro for $925 (2 month used in perfect condition with warranty). $200 upgrade- not bad! And I can install my SSD in the new one (plus 8gb ram I bought for $50).
