The Apple site says the 15" MBP weighs 5.6 pounds (2.54 kg). But that's for the base model with glossy screen. I'm curious how much the antiglare model weighs. I just got a postage scale too, so I'd like to compare my reading with someone else's, to make sure the scale is working correctly.

It weighs about the same. There's not a significant difference.

Weight reduction with antiglare screen

It should weigh 42 g or so less, due to missing glass.

Mine is showing as 2.49kg on the kitchen scales.

Mine is showing 2.456kg. Mine is the 2.4GHz model, with the standard 4 GB of RAM. But I also got the 750GB 7200RPM HDD. How much RAM and what kind of HDD do you have? The other difference between mine and your 2.2GHz model that could explain our weight differences is that mine has 1GB of video RAM compared to your 512MB.

It was 2.486kg IIRC. Not the easiest thing to get an accurate reading for - had to balance it on the side!

500Gb Seagate 5400.6
8GB Crucial RAM

From notebookcheck.net:
Another plus of choosing the matte screen, is that it brings down the weight of the laptop (matte: 2.446 Kg - glare-type: 2.515 Kg). On the other hand, the glare-type screen makes colors appear crisper and is easier to clean.

42 g or 69 g, both are valid answers to life, but I understand, that such an incorrect answer should be down-voted nonetheless.

Wasn't me!

I'll down-vote my own post now. Of course 42 is the only possible correct answer. However I think you got the unit wrong... it's closer to 42 dram.

Yeah, but you were correcting me. It could have only been you. I know that, and my towel does too. Or it was my towel, that little, wet bastard has some kind of agenda. And be it only be 47.

Mine weighs 2.54kg; that's what it says on Apple.com and all that really matters.
