Now that the new RMBP's and Air's are out, I find myself wanting nothing more than an IPS panel in the new Air. It wouldn't have to be higher resolution (as that would affect battery life), but a good IPS panel would be nice. I'd be willing to pay $300 extra for it no problem.

Isn't the main advantage of an IPS pannel viewing angles? If that is the case, $0 because I don't find myself trying to use my laptop too far from perpendicular in relation to the screen.

Far, far, far superior contrast and color also. Which were two of the worst aspects of the current Air screens. Much easier on your eyes.

I checked $300, but that assumes a matte display. I would pay a LOT more for an Air with an IPS matte display.
