Hello people, i have a co-worker that's selling his 1st generation MacBook (blackbook, CoreDuo, 512 RAM, Superdrive, etc). The catch is that it's HD is dead. He's moving to another state, so he told me he wanted to sell it, he can really use the money. He tried to sell it for $600 at first, but then he went down to $400.
Im offering $350 for it. Do you guys think for $350 is a good steal for me? Do you guys think that i can go lower, like maybe $300? Remember that the HD is dead, i'll need to replace it and bump up the RAM to 2GB. So i would have to put $120 ($60 for HD and $60 for 2GB RAM more or less) so it would end up in $470 or $450 after the tune up investment.

What do you guys think?, Should i go with my price, try to get lower, or settle for $400?

Thanks!

I was able to get a MB with a DOA HD from someone on CL for $300

But the guy didn't know anything about it.

I say you shoot for about 350 if it's in real good shape.
