Just finished installing on both my macs and my macbook reclaimed about 7GB whereas my iMac reclaimed about 29GB:eek:

Both were just upgraded

Same here! I got about 27GB back! Trying to figure out how much of that is NEW memory.

i reckon only about 8-9 GB is real memory

Did find it funny with the install disc before install 80.0MB was free after install 83.9MB free:D

question i have been wondering is, would you get that hard drive space back even if you didn't do a clean install? Thats my worry, im thinking that you would only get that HD space back if you do a clean install is that true?

Sorry did not see that, I'm trying to see if i would benefit more by doing a clean install rather than upgrading. I got my imac in May so I cant see doing a clean install.
