Hi, with the Studio finally being updated, I am considering selling my current Mac to buy it as I haven’t moved my MacBook off my desk. I want a dual large screen setup and unless I dock my MacBook Pro into a cradle (it sits on a stand currently) I am not sure I’ll be able to fit two screens on my desk.
So I was wondering on its value? It is an official Apple Refurbished model, a 14” MacBook Pro, bought it last year and it still has Apple warranty until June 25th this year.
It is an M3 Max with 36GB RAM and a 14 core CPU, 30 core GPU. It has 1 terabyte SSD storage. It’s a silver colour.

I am still thinking it over, but as it’s an Apple refurb model I am unsure of its value? Ideally I’d like to get around £2000 for it.

Any advice appreciated. Please note I am not selling it here mods.

I have to use a Dell Windows laptop for work and have to use video calling for some meetings, so it is on a stand on the other side of my current monitor to where my Mac is, so unless I can get an external camera to work with that, which is locked down as it’s a works machine and I cannot install any software, then I am thinking of selling my MacBook for a Studio.

Check eBay, and specifically the sold listings. That usually provides a good idea for what people are willing to pay for a used Mac.

Being Apple refurbished isn’t likely to impact its value, as even if it wasn’t it still has to be sold as a used item at this point. Having a warranty should help a bit though.

Thanks, I’ll just go by the eBay listings then.

If I chose not to sell it, and I kept it instead what is the best cradle or dock for it? A wooden or silver metal one?

Personally, i'd say ItsWorthMore will benefit more as its less of a hassle.[I've sold a few GPUs, Macbooks and iPads with them] With Ebay it's 20-questions and you have to pray that the buyer doesn't pull any nonsense for a refund.

As for cradle, I recommend wood.

Ah never mind.. just measured my desk and the only way I’d be able to fit dual 27” screens is to bury both laptops behind them and bring the monitors further towards me. Won’t even have room to mount them on arms as with my desk the front and sides are sloped so I wouldn’t be able to mound arms there, my bad decision on design choice there lol.

Think I’ll just stick with the laptops and buy a 32” OLED 4K monitor, I can make that work then, and mount swing arms on the back of my desk for the laptops to clear some space.
I’ll wait to see what is announced onto the market this year, maybe Apple will release a 32” none pro monitor?
