I just found 2 3GS phones in my closet. They are UNLOCKED. One is running 4.3.3 the other 5.1.1. I am currently living in Australia phone phones are not really subsidised and have been offered 50$ per phone. Would you guys say that's a fair price?

Check the completed listing on eBay and then asked for a bit more because hey buyer isn't having to deal with all he eBay/PayPal hassle!

I think a bit more than $50 with the IOS that is running on them. People looking for the older IOS will pay bit more. $65-80 USD. That would be for an 8GB and in really good condition. Colour really does not seem to matter as much.

i sold them both for 50 each. Couldn't be bothered to have them just sit around, and i had 2 willing buyers. People did not want to pay over 50 here, so whatever, phones are obsolete anyway.

I sold my 32GB 3GS last year for around $60. It was pretty beat up, but functioned just fine.

Are either of them "Old Bootrom" (original release, mid-2009)?

They may be worth a tad bit more if they are, since they can install any compatible iOS version without SHSH blobs.

I would do some research on ebay and such to see what an unlocked 3gs goes for. But if it's just been in your closet and you're not doing much with it might as well sell it for whatever you can right? $50 bucks doesn't seem unreasonable but I'd definitely try to get more if I could.

ebay/paypal fees will kill your price... jus saying. I experienced it first hand. ebay takes 10% of selling price and paypal gets 3% of the selling price too. so basically all said and done, your cut is .87% of the selling price.. ****** rip offs! I suggest sell on craigslist. I was doing craigslist but people in craigslist are cheap LAWLS!

I think you mean, bupkis.

I was able to purchase a close to mint 32 GB white 3GS for less than $100. right here on MacRumors about two weeks ago.

The 3GS is a relatively fast iPhone (probably helps it doesn't have to process a Retina display) for day to day.

I still like the form factor better than anything since.

While using the one I had I remembered how much I loved my first iPhone (3G). The same thing happened with the 4 I am working on now. :)
