i have a year left on the 2 year contract

but i wanna cancel one of the lines and go prepaid

It depends if you had the $325 ETF or $175 and that is decreased every month. So with one year left out of the 2 you should have about half of that. But to get more details you will have to call them.

It's $325 as the iPhone is considered an 'advanced' phone.

The $175 is for basic voice and messaging phones.

iPhones are in the "Smartphone" category, regardless of brand

All others are in the "Feature Phone" category, regardless of brand.

Smartphone ETF is currently $350 for AT&T and Verizon

Feature Phone ETF is currently $175 for each carrier.

Pro-rated monthly reductions are calculated on your individual or family plans.

Your ETF could vary depending on the age of the plan, as will your monthly pro-rated reduction factor.

The answer is to call AT&T. I promise they won't bite you when you ask.

The only thing we can do is give you educated guesses. Only AT&T knows your exact contract details (how many months left, what your ETF is, etc..)

$325 I believe. Give them a call to double check. They could answer you better than we can.

What??? Why call ATT and get a correct, single answer in a minute or two when you can start a thread and get many incorrect ones.

EDIT: Or search the ATT site for, oh, I don't know, 'Early Termination Fee'.
