how much memory such i get for video editing

i just bought a new 12" powerbook g4, and going to be doing some video editing of my travels how much extra memory would you recommend as there is a big price difference between 512 and 1gb.
and would the program still run ok if i only got a extra 512 instead of 1gb??

Since you are doing video editing, I say get as much as you can afford. You'll be able to use 512, but I'd still say get all you can because it will be worth it.
