I know a lot of people are saying that scalpers are buying the iPads to send back home but I was curious to see how much they are making. They have to pay for the iPad plus tax. Then they have to pay to send it back home. This doesn't account for the time spent standing in line. I'm guessing the profit must be great though if people are still doing it. Anyone have any idea?

No idea, but it is clearly a seller's market right now. And like you said, if scalpers weren't making money, they wouldn't being doing it.

I would assume that those scalpers probably are able to sell the iPad 2 for at least 2x the price of the US retail price. I don't know what the actual costs are for those scalpers but surely it must be quite a substantial & "easy" profit for them. :D
