Hi

I have a 13-inch, Aluminum Macbook 5.1 Late 2008)
Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-8500 1066.

How much RAM can this model take ? And what PIN slot does it use 200 or 204 ???

It seems not, take a look at this.

I also put an SSD into the superdrive bay... wow she's quick now.

What kind of Macbook do you have ? is it identical to mine?

Macbook 5.1 13inch Aluminum late 2008 ?

Because by your screenshot it seems your correct.

Why! then is (Apple Support) stating in there tech specs that this model can only go up to 4GB Max ?

Yep same as yours.. Apple updated the EFI FW some time ago which allows the system to support 8gb.

This link explains it better than I can

I took my serial number out of the shot as I didn't want to post it on the internet. My macbook is the same as yours the top picture shows this.

The aluminum Macbook has always been able to use 8GB of ram. The Apple has often understated the maximum amount of ram their machines can use.

Really ? thats not what I have read..

Oh well I have 8gb in my macbook and she fly's....

The white late-2008 Macbooks could only see and use 6GB when launched. They got a firmware update to unlock the chipset's full 8GB support. The aluminimum ones have always been able to see and use 8GB.

xSRINTERx What OS are you running on your MB OS X Leopard or OS X Snow Leopard
lion, when I upgraded from snowy it was beach balling for fun upgraded the ram. Now it's perfect.
