How much Ram needed for the new 17" macpro?

I like to do the usual photo's vids surfing but also bit of windows (esp poker, gaming) 8G Ram is quite pricey - but is 4G Ram enough. Thanks for your help and apologies if it is a silly question. Gerard

You would be fine with even 2 single GB for what you're doing (Under Mac OS X)

4 GB is totally fine.

Stay with 4GB for now. It is plenty for you right now. You can always upgrade to 8GB when they are low enough for you to afford it, which should take about a year from now.
