Most likely going to purchase one on ebay because they dont have a 4s 16gb available or virgin mobile. They only have the 4 and 4s and only 8gb.

iphone 4 with 8gb cost 160+ tax

iphone 4s with 8gb cost 280+tax

So how much should be the max i pay for an iphone 4s with 16gb used? Lets say the condition is very good to excellent.

Isn't there a really good sale going on for Virgin Mobile though? You could get the 5c for $360. It's a little more but 4G speeds and a bigger screen. Plus you'll get the 16GB.

I dont like the look of the iphone 5c...

Ah. Well good luck with your search. Not more than $200.00 for a 16GB 4s.

Is there a reason why ppl pay close to 300 for a used one on ebay then? I checked the auctions and many of them sell close to 300 for a used one.

Im looking at the virgin mobile one... So wouldnt that mean those shoudl cost less than factor unlocked?

Not sure where you're searching but looks like Completed listings went for $220-$250 on average. Those that sold for $300 included bundles, extended warranty and whatnots.

I sold mine, 20 months old, on Gumtree for £150.

16GB black, but it was boxed and in immaculate condition for a phone of that age. It also covered the £151.43 I paid O2 for my early upgrade fee and up front cost of the 5s. :D

eBay will be more expensive that sourcing it locally since eBay is a big market selling to anyone in the country. I buy from CL and sell on eBay for a profit.

Yep. If you go the Craigslist route, make sure to meet them at a store. That way you know it'll be legitimate and no shady business. Just my advice.

How much would you pay for a NEW iphone 4s unlocked phone?

This is most likely what im going to get. Either that or a used one and going to get an unlocked one as oppose to virgin mobile.

I see on ebay there are sellers that have it between 400-450. Is that about right?

I'd pay those prices for a used iPhone 5, not a 4S. That's way too much for a 4S. I would say $300 would be my top amount for a 4S and that either has to be brand new or barely used in mint condition.

I have a feeling it's because it's for Virgin Mobile though instead of on another carrier and the seller not wanting to lose out on money after just paying full retail for it from Virgin lol.

You can get a brand new 4S 8GB(yes it's a low amount) for $279 from virginmobiles site right now. but is 16GB,32GB, or 64GB worth the extra $220 when it's used. I personally prefer brand new to avoid any complications that can come up.

Not one red cent! This is not me saying that the 4s is a bad phone, but for that price you might as well by a slightly used 5, or new 5c, and new 5s for not much more. The 4s, while a good phone at the time, is not near as good, fast, or powerful as the phones made in the last two years. Also Apples track record is that they stop supporting phones after about 3 or 4 years, so you are already on the tail end of that.
