So, I was checking my GMail account, which I have had for a couple years now, and saw that I was using just over 100 MB of my 7 GB of storage. I wonder if that is typical?

How much are you using? (Screen shots would be nice.)

Here's mine.:apple:

Forgot to mention, so heres the edit:

Include how long you have had you account.

You are currently using 341 MB (4%) of your 7255 MB.

Just copied & pasted. Too lazy for a screen shot, lol.

I use MobileMe, but it's basically the same so I thought I'd add.

I don't ever delete e-mail from GMail (even ads and junk mail like that that I opted in for), except for marking spam as spam. I still have only used 600 MB since 11/2005. So if they continue to expand capacity at the rate that they have, I don't think I'll ever really need to delete mail from Gmail.

I get far fewer attachments at GMail than at my work e-mails, though. My University of Florida e-mail for graduate school from 2004-present is several gigabytes.

I'm using 186MB (2%) of 7303MB. I keep my inbox well cleaned, but I actually still have the welcome email from the GMail team. It seems I opened my account on 2 Sep 2004. I didn't start using it as my primary account until around 2006, though. I remember hearing that Google was going to offer 1GB of storage in email accounts, and thinking it was a joke. Guess the joke was on me.

If I recall correctly, they actually launched on April Fools day in 2004, which didn't help their credibility.

I've been using Gmail since around 2004. I got it back when Gmail invitations were actually sought after. Remember that?

First off, welcome. And thanks for agreeing to help us test Gmail. By now you probably know the key ways in which Gmail differs from traditional webmail services. Searching instead of filing. A free gigabyte of storage. Messages displayed in context as conversations.

So what else is new?

Gmail has many other special features that will become apparent as you use your account. To help you get started, we encourage you to visit our Help Center, there you can browse frequently asked questions, read our Getting Started guide, or contact the Gmail User Support Team. You'll also find information in the Help Center on such topics as:

Importing your contacts from Yahoo! Mail, Outlook, and others to Gmail
Using address auto-complete
Setting up filters for incoming mail
Using advanced search options
You may also have noticed some text ads or related links to the right of this message. They're placed there in the same way that ads are placed alongside Google search results and, through our AdSense program, on content pages across the web. The matching of ads to content in your Gmail messages is performed entirely by computers; never by people. Because the ads and links are matched to information that is of interest to you, we hope you'll find them relevant and useful.

We're working hard during our limited test to improve Gmail and make it the best webmail service around. Thanks for taking the plunge with us. We hope you'll enjoy Google's approach to email.

Thanks,

The Gmail Team

P.S. You can sign in to your account any time by visiting http://gmail.google.com

Since then, I've used 551 MB, or 7%. My work/professional email has 132 MB (1%) used. Had that once since 03/07/05. :)

I got my Gmail account at the end of 2006 and started using it as my main email account then. Before I had AOL and Gmail is so much better. I really love it!

You are currently using 516 MB (7%) of your 7307 MB

I get sent a lot of PDFs on upcoming projects. It's pretty big when you think about the days when Gmail were offering only 1GB of email and most people then thought it was excessive. Or least I thought it was excessive.

I set up my google apps email address about 15 months ago, and since then I haven't deleted any messages I've sent or received. My line reads:

You are currently using 917 MB (12%) of your 7303 MB.
