Hi! I'm considering a MacBook Air for my son but I'm in two minds about the size of the HD. 128Gb is very small, but Apple charges such a premium for SSDs, that the price of a 256Gb model puts me off.

Could anyone on here kindly tell me how much space is actually available on a 128Gb brand new Air?

Many thanks in advance.

Around 16GB for the OS.

Just to take recovery partition/formatting space into consideration, the absolute worst case scenario is about 100-105GB free from brand-new.
