Curious what others have for storage. I will be going 1TB again.

I will probably go 512 GB. I got a 1 TB 14 Pro Max and could have gotten away with 256 GB even though I did take a lot of long graduation and prom party videos at 4k.

I stream most music and I delete my downloaded movies after I’ve watched them. I used web instead of apps as much as possible because apps are such power hogs.

My current phone is a 256 GB 12 Pro Max.

86.6 GB used on it so far.

I use more storage on Android phones.

38 out of 64gb..

48 out of 64GB on an iPhone X here. I got the base model because the deal was too good to pass up. I survived on 64GB for 5 years, but it did get cramped at times.

I'm interested in upgrading to the 15. If I do, I'm thinking the 256GB level this time... if I get around to it. I'm incredibly lazy about upgrading. Hardware doesn't excite me so upgrading is just more work to do.

I'm long past due so I gotta bite the bullet at some point and just put an order in.

You all are amazing with the smaller storage phones. How do you do it? Maybe its due to how many older photos I have on my phone.
I don't know how they do it, but the fact that they do is one of the primary reasons I buy the max storage offered.

What they do to get by is not anything I wish to be doing for the 2.5 to 5.5 years or so that I usually take between upgrades. It's always better to have more than you need instead of not enough in my opinion.

~75gb of 256gb.

I religiously clean my photos collections (and archive them offline), and don't store video on my phone. No large apps and no games, either.

My work-issued iPhone is an SE 2022.. Using around 27gb/128gb.

I'm cheating. I freelance so I've been working from home for almost 2 decades. My laptop is usually nearby and if I need to go somewhere, I will either bring my laptop or an iPad so I almost always have other devices.

Before 2020, I traveled a bit more and there were indeed times when I felt the pain of 64GB so while I can survive on the low end, I'm probably not going to do that again.

I also do most of my photography with a physical camera so that cuts down on all the photo storage.

I mostly take photos of my cat with my phone. When I told my wife I was thinking up upgrading to the 15, she asked "do you really need a new cat camera?"

Ouch.

45 out of 128 GB. I keep a lot of space so I know for sure that I can film something, if I need to.

I spent a lot of time cleaning it up this weekend. Now at 94 of 128. Husband is around 90 of 128.
We could save another 50GB if we optimized photos but we don't. We do need to backup photos to an external drive so we can offload some of the not as favorite ones from our phones.

I've avoided splurging on all the storage I could want because I've found that when I have more than I need I get so lazy about keeping my files organized that I can't find things when I really need them. As a part-time photographer who runs some social media for other people, that's death.

Keeping the storage just a little bit tighter than comfortable motivates me to see my work honestly and helps me purge stuff that I should have let go of years ago. The number of photos in collections from years past get smaller as you go further back in time, but the overall quality is higher in the sets that survived my purges.

I personally use a 128GB iPhone 13 and I use around 78.72GB of it. Apparently most of it is used up by "Applications", Messages, iOS and System Data. I store most of my photos in iCloud+, which me and my family have 2TB of. (For Photos in there, I have around 216.29GB.)

230 gigs out of 256. 130 gigs are photos and videos.

I have never used it. But is it safe to use optimization to save space on the photos? Is it worth it? I’m genuinely curious since I literally have never used it.

82.4 GB of 256GB … I rely heavily on iCloud and use photo/video optimization on a 2TB account I am now sharing with my wife and son (over 563 GB now which will continue to climb as my kids get older).

I just love the ability to jump from phone, iPad, to iMac and work on photos quickly.

I'll likely get the 256GB again for the iPhone 15…assuming they offer that model size.

53.2 of 64 Gb. I will probably go with the base storage on the 15 when we get new phones. Unless the Pro Max is too big and I go with a regular Pro. Then I'll bump up a storage level. What I did with the 6s. Wife went with the Plus and I went with the regular but the next storage level up. We'll see.

Also, holy crap OP, offload your photos so you don't lose them.

Every family member and friend who visits regularly take photos of our cats daily and all these cat photos and videos go into our iCloud album. Every single evening that we happen to be home all together, we play on the big screen tv all the movies that iPhoto app compiled of the cat photos and videos. Sometimes we will find ourselves watching all of this for almost an hour. Never underestimate the importance of cat photos!
