I just got my first mac about a month ago and its the midlevel 13" rMBP with 250 GB SSD and 8GB RAM. I need Windows since I'm gonna start learning C# soon and also for some light gaming, how much HDD space should I use for bootcamp? Would installing games on a external HDD work to save some of my macbook's space? I'm only using 34 GB at the moment.
Thanks

No one can answer that but you. How much stuff do you think you are going to put on the Windows side? If I'm using Bootcamp for games I usually partition myself like 60% Windows 40% OSX.

It all depends on what you plan to do.

I'd dedicate at least 100GB of space, just to be safe, because with patching, window's footprint will grow.
