Say I go to ATT and buy a new iPhone 3G, and 2 other free phones, and get a family plan for two years. After a month or so, I decide I no longer want the data plan so I cancel the service for the iPhone BUT still keep my 2-year contract for the family plan. Will I still have to pay a termination fee? How much?

Thanks!!

You will have to pay termination fees on the lines that you cancel.

Do you want to cancel the iPhone and data plan or just the data plan for the iPhone?

Each line on your FamilyTalk plan has a $175 ETF fee. So if you cancel one line (the iPhone 3G), then you pay $175. If you choose to just use another phone on the iPhone line and then you could call Customer Care and drop the iPhone 3G data plan once you start using another phone. Please note that you will be asked to provide IMEI of the phone that is replacing your iPhone 3G.

Exactly, or they will add the 3G plan back on the phone line that is using the iPhone.

Get a Touch if your intent is to avoid the data plan.
