So I originally purchased a 2020 MacBook Air i3 256gb, 8GB Refurbished model and want to upgrade to an M1 and I'm wondering what to sell it for. It seems like the going price on Swappa is around $750, but Im wondering if it was originally a refurbished model should I sell it for less?

List it at $750, disclose it is Apple refurbished, and accept the best reasonable offer you get. $750 sounds high given that others have reported them being sold new for $699 (IIRC).

Thanks for the advice. Yeah $750 does seem high. Apple is offering $570 for trade in. Might just take it for convenience.

I think that'd be your best bet - no muss, no fuss. And if you have sales tax in your state, don't forget you get that back as well - in Colorado, it's ~8% depending on county and city/town.

I’ve had good luck selling on Swappa. “Refurbished” Apple products are often just returns, so I don’t think you would take a hit because of it. The box doesn’t have a pretty picture on it, but it’s still under warranty.

craigslist is another good source to sell items including MacBooks. only a few are available in the Collier County area of Florida, and most are outdated. also that is a good source to see what the MacBook is worth in your area.
good luck tho!
