I currently have a 4S on VZW with unlimited data and am thinking of switching to ATT to get on a family plan. I will be able to take over someone else's unlimited data plan on ATT.

The major downside of ATT unlimited data is that they throttle back your data speeds after you reach 3GB. I have never come close to that with my VZW 3G connection, though I'm concerned that with 4G I may really need more than 3GB.

What does it take to hit 3GB of bandwidth? Is that really a lot of data?

Thanks.

With 4g LTE you get 5gb before your throttle with unlimited data plan. On 3g if you don't go over 3gb on Verizon, your not gonna go over 3gb on AT&T. If you do get throttle, you could still use data to check email and send imessages and somewhat go on websites but it might take a little longer. Just forget about watching videos.

Are you saying that ATT does not throttle you until you hit 5GB of data with their 4G unlimited plan? I thought I read it was 3GB.

Thanks.
