Well, I've been avoiding filling up my gas tank for as long as I could, but there's only so many places BART can take me.

It now takes just under $65 to fill up my Accord :(
I am not looking forward to this summer.

Now I ask, how much was your last tank fill up?

43.93. It was a sad day when my 13 gallon tank finally broke 40.

What even sadder is less than 2 years ago I was complaining about crossing 30. Now I would love to be back at that. Even farther back I remember 10 bucks was a full tank of gas.

What I never get is why people try to avoid filling up there tank. It is not like they are dodge the cost. It still cost them the same at the end of the month. The car needs gas no matter how it is cut.

People are always seem shock that when I need gas I just fill up my car. I may not like the price but I see no point in trying to avoid doing it.

2008 Accord Coupe: 17 gallons @ 3.91 = $67 approx, 2 hours back.
San Diego, CA

$ 56 to fill up my FJ Cruiser but its been over a week since I did. I am quite happy my commute to the office is five miles.

A Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec.

£55 for 13.2 US gallons. ( 50 litres )

$8.21 / US gallon.

Welcome to the UK. Please leave your wallet, vital organs and expectations of good public transport at the door.

Last two fill ups cost me £75, ( or $147 for the Americans )granted I pulled in to the petrol station on fumes and topped the tank until it was almost spilling out but £75 is taking the piss. Worst part of all, used the whole tank in one weekend and had to fill up again on the monday which cost another £75. Oh and £75 was for 17-18 US Gallons

Nothing. Move to a city with good public transportation. Stop giving the oil companies your money. I haven't owned a car in almost a decade, and I can't tell you how free it makes you feel. I watch the news and am amazed that people still put up with this.

Yesterday I paid 1,42€ which is £1.14 a litre or $8.28 a gallon for US readers! So my full tank would be $135 / £68.40 / 85.20€ which will get me 670 k or 415 miles.:(

Lee - tell me a city that can support more people with ease? Everywhere is overcrowded. Moving to a city would kill me. I'm used to nothing but bird song and when I recently had to go to a city I was freaked out by not being able to move where I wanted because so many people were in my face. That's not freedom in my book.

$28.00 Honda civic 2004. $3.45/gal in MD. That will last me 2 weeks. I live next door to my job and only drive to church and longer shopping. I could take the bus since it comes right pastmy door, but Ilike the convience of jumping in my car when I ready to leave vs. having to wait. Unless of course I'm going into DC,then I take the train.

£20.99 for 20 Litres. That should last me a couple of weeks as I usually cycle to work.

I would rather pay double that for my petrol than have to live in a city

You're pretty much S.O.L. if you live in Canada. I use the transit system, but I am thoroughly disgusted with it's lack of quality, the greed of it's union, the massive mismanagement, and Ottawa bleeding Toronto dry to throw tax money at the suburbs.

You're funny. London and it's underground train network, and reasonably good buses, and integrated Oyster card system is a public transport system that while occasionally crowded and unreliable - works.

Any other city in the UK? Forget it. Slow, unreliable, expensive, essentially impractical. My 12 minute, car pooled route to work would become a 45 minute, often unreliable, and actually more expensive way to get around.

^^ Oxford's works pretty well, as does Leamington's, maybe you're going to the wrong places ;).
