I have read some stuff about subsidized pricing, can somebody tell me the price I will be charged for taxes? I am in California.

Thanks

california requires a tax on the full unsubsidized price. if you're buying the $199 model (which costs $649 retail), you'll be expected to pay around $250. the exact amount depends on where exactly you live.

Does anybody know if Apple charges a activation fee? I will be going through Apple afterall but through ATT carrier, im currently using a "upgrade" from my old iPhone 4 so it isnt new service or anything

The upgrade fee will show on your next wireless bill (I believe its $18).

If you buy the $199.99 phone, it's total will be $259.49. You are taxed on the full price of the phone, not the discounted price.
Is that what you're asking?

Holy crap. Reason #359271 not to live in California. Reasons to...dispensaries.
