Not looking to sell, yet at least, which is why this isn't in the marketplace. I've been thinking of dumping my G5 PowerMac and grabbing a mini. I don't use the power of it, and as a college student in a small apartment, could use the space.

Here's the specs:

1.6 GHz SP G5
800MHz FSB
1GB Crucial RAM
200GB 7200RPM 16MB cache hard disk
nVidia 5200 Ultra 64MB VRAM
Airport Extreme card installed
Superdrive
Keyboard and Mouse
Nearly new cosmetic condition.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

how about checking ebay first? good place to learn market value of things...
Yeah, I was looking there, however, I was going to try and do a local sale (it weighs about 2 tons), and eBay isn't a great barometer for that.

edit: also, I had a hard time finding a machine with the custom config I've put together.

so do you only want people in your area to respond to tell you what they think a fair price is?

edit: i'd try to get a ballpark from ebay, and then list a classified if you want to sell locally

not just from WNY, just a private sale in general.

I have seen G5's @ 2Ghz (Dual) going for $1000. I have also seen some G5 1.8 Dual systems going for $800...Rough guess, maybe $600-$700?

Apple has a refurbed 1.6 for $1200, but it has a smaller HD and less RAM. Still, I doubt you'll get more than that. Apple's has a warranty and everything. Good luck. :)

Try a local sale on craigslist - http://rochester.craigslist.org/ - although I see from the Rochester entries that it doesn't seem to be nearly as active as the SF Bay Area craigslist.

1.6GHz SP PowerMacs are going for about $1200 on the SF craigslist.

Whoa, those are going way cheaper than any other (working) computer I've found.

For the people that said $1200, I was hoping for that neighborhood, especially with the upgrades.
