I give mine a 9/10.. it's an amazing phone with great features and I use every single one of them. There's just some little things I wish it had.

Same for me too. It's the little things that keep it at a 9 instead of a 10, but that doesn't mean it's the best piece of technology I've owned.

10/10. I thought the 1st gen was 10 out of ten as well. The new black one is just dead sexy and works pretty darn good. Plus very nice screen with no dead pixels or negative black issue. I am one happy camper.

I have never been an Apple fan, and don't have a single Apple product except for this new iPhone 3G. I definitely give it a 10/10 and have a hard time believing why anyone would give it less. Simply said, there's nothing comparable to it.

I give it a 9/10.

It's the best phone out there, but sometimes i feel if Apple actually controls us. Lack of basic features, which the reason i think of is they have no way to implement them (cough copy/paste).
Also, the yellow tint issue. I personally like that, but they should give us the ability to control it.
We get no trials on apps from the store.
Fingerprints :)

But oh well. All of those except the last one are software. I'm just glad i got 3G and GPS, which is going to be awesome when i go back to school.

3G 9/10 would give the 1st Gen an 9/10 as well

3G has the speed and the gps and actually feels nicer to hole to me but the battery on the 1st Gen was superb (although the 3G gets better with every charge).

The only reason its not a 10/10 is probably not apples fault...3G coverage is weak where on the block where I live and where my fiance lives and unlike other 3G phones that I have had the iPhone doesn''t switch back to 2.5G and quickly...which means I drop calls or miss calls when networks are switching. I just leave 3G off when I at home (don't need it as I have WiFi here) and I am fine.

Lets hope AT&T can use some of their new income and improve their coverage. On a side note, AT&T's EDGE/GSM coverage is quite in my area so I expect 3G to be up there as well.

3 people gave 1/10 for their iPhone 3Gs. I bet they sent it back for a refund.

I gave this 3-day old iPhone 3G a 9/10. I never thought about the camera, but it bugs me from time to time. I'm sure I will learn how to use the iPhone 3G camera precisely.

yeah, if you give it such a low score at least give a reason why

I gave my 3G an 8/10 - Id like to see a few things added, but my primary reason for not a 9 or 10 rating is battery life.

Agreed, it's a tough call. It works just like my iPod touch, which I really liked. Battery is pretty good for a device like this but I would have liked more. Also, the initial pick of apps are really lame for the most part. So far it gets an 8/10 until I use it more.
