I just entered a 2 year with AT&T, 200mb/mo data plan.

While I keep Cell Data off, I am looking at how I can avoid going over.

I have an idea to set 3G to OFF and leave it on all the time. Naturally this goes to EDGE speed which is tiny (1/10th??) that of iPhone 4's 3.75G speed (4 can go a heck of lot faster then just 3G).

So far I am seeing about 1.4mb / day.

Any other tips out there?

AT&T's app monitors data usage. It's really not that hard to avoid going over the limit; don't view Youtube videos on 3G, don't use data-hogging apps, don't download e-mails with large attachments, etc.

the "myAT&T" app?

So far the "no 3G" choke is working fine too, still use internet but not get close to limit.
