how often do you check for updates in cydia?

Probably 3 - 5 times a day. I check for updates and also to see if there's any new tweaks or utilities added as well.

Usually once per day. If I know a package is going to be updated on a particular day I'll check every few hours.

Also does cydia not have an app updater notification, like the app store? Like if you paid for an app, and a new version comes out will Cydia alert you to download the newest version?

Not even the app store does it. you have to open the app store to see if you have updates anyways.

What I hate about cydia is that I have to open it again and check for updates after the updates for the badge to clear.

lol guys. You must be really patient. If Cydia would NOT be such a slow @ss app then I would check it more often. Otherwise it takes FOREVER for it to load that's why I only check once a week.

It only takes about 20 seconds for it load and refresh sources for me. Is your life really that busy you can't spare that amount of time.
