So I bought my Macbook August of 2007, and have only Archive & Installed when Leopard came out.

I don't have any noticeable problems yet I know a lot of people wipe their computer clean, back-up any important programs and files, and then re-install their OS. Do a lot of people do this?

I kind of want to but it's my first time doing it so I don't want to mess anything up or forget something I need, etc.

Everytime I get a new hard drive or upgrade my operating system to a new major release. So not very often.

I've done it once before and that was only because I had nothing better to do, and I had messed up a few files.

With a mac, you only need to do a clean install, if
1. you feel like it.
2. You corrupt your hard drive.

Wow, thanks everyone! That's all I needed to know. Seeing as how I don't have any problems now I suppose common sense tells me not to change anything.
