I hope you don’t mind me asking.........

I’m interested in how often people clear the web data/cookies/cache/history In their browsers. I do mine multiple times a day to avoid newspaper article limits, close multiple tabs and maintain my privacy.

In Safari: Never.

In Chrome: Often.

For personal usage I find it more trouble than it's worth (I do have several plugins protecting privacy etc, though); but when I'm developing something it happens a lot.

I clear mine about every two to three weeks so the Internet Cache doesn’t grow any larger! Beside there are only a handful of sites I visit anymore reside all login information is kept in my Keychain!

Never, I sometimes search my history a long time back if I'm looking for a website but can't recall the link or name. Also I do not really bother clearing cookies or web data, as you'll have to log in everywhere again, set your cookie preferences, etc. So not worth the hassle imo.

Sometimes.

I have mostly browsed in private/incognito mode in the past couple of years. Browser history is blown away when I exit.

I still assiduously log out of accounts and manually clear web history in case I ended up surfing in a regular (non-private, non-incognito) browser window.

I clear cache constantly thoughout the day on my main machine, but that's only because I'm developing a web app and need to do it in order to see the changes. Almost never clear history or cookies, I can delete individual items from local storage in my web app with developer mode.

My Firefox is set to delete everything on close and is locked down as far as it will go and still let websites work. Safari is what I use a few important commerce sites (Amazon, Bank, etc) and I keep the cookies there so I don't appear as a new user every time. I never use Safari for general surfing.
