Okay so How often do you do these things?

I used to do it whenever I felt my system getting slow on my old beige g3 (Which was often) but now I have Dual 1-gig MDD I don't notice it as much but I am a perfectionist and I have not done it for while on my new system?

So how often do you guys do it?

(p.s.. I would make this a POLL but not sure how)

yep, prebinding is done automatically now. i'm going to repair permissions for the 2nd time ever in a few minutes, to hopefully make my DVD's eject and mount properly again... damn forty-two...

I've been running repair privileges on a random basis after installing software to see what software installation is screwing things up.

Believe it or not, iMovie and iPhoto had incorrect permissions set from the installation.

Other then things changing when I install software, nothing else seems to damage my permissions.

prebindings never

permissions maybe 3 times a year (at home and at the lab).
its a good idea to do the permissions if you haven't clean installed in a long time or for some troubleshooting.

I do it anytime after I install a handful of software. A good thought would be to do it after every 5 installs, or every OS update.

I run cocktail, a wonderful app weekly, its the best app for stuff like this. Try it out

i do it probably everyday. i just do it in the background or right before i go to sleep. doesnt take too long.

2-3 times a week...

What I don't understand is how can a privilege be corrupt if I never opened it?

Office 'Clap.wav' is corrupt. I never opened that, I haven't even used office, how can it possible be corrupt now?
