It seems as if I'm doing this about every 2 months because my computer lags down so much!

Is this too much?

How often do you do it/How often do you use your computer (hours/day...apps used)

On a PC, I do this about every 6 months or when I've really been doing a lot of installing and removing of apps.

On a Mac, I do this about every year. But now with Cloning it is so much easier.

Never.

If you "need" to do it that often, try some maintainance instead... like restarting, clearing cache, running perodicals, etc. MainMenu, OnyX or similar applications can be very helpful...

Oops, looks I forgot part 2 for the Mac side.

Good stuff.

On the PC side, however, I've found that it is just easier to re-install. I generally keep a clone that has most of what I use so it is a fairly quick procedure to update. Also, on the PC side, making a clone is much harder than with a Mac. :(
