How (or should) I set up a simple RAID arrangement?

Hi there

I don't know much about RAID arrangements but I thought I'd ask this in case anyone can give me any useful advice. I have about 500GB of video on one drive and would like to upgrade to a RAID system with some built-in redundancy in case a drive fails.

What's a simple way of doing this and can anyone recommend any brands of drives I should look at?

Or is it simpler just to have a spare drive with a clone of the material in case one fails?
