Does my Apple ID email address get shared with any 3rd parties? Right now, I have it set to an email account that gets lots of spam mail, sometimes the spam mail pretends to be from Apple. This makes me think that my Apple ID leaked out somehow but it could be a general phishing attempt as well.

So, I'm thinking about switching my Apple ID to my email address that I don't give out to the public - I only use this address to communicate with my immediate family members. If I switch to this email address, will my email address stay secure?

Apple doesn't give your Apple ID to third parties. You can read more about it in Apple's Privacy Policy (below). One way to protect your primary @icloud.com email is to set up email aliases. You can have up to three that you can use for different purposes and not have to use your primary at all, thus protecting it. To set up email aliases, use the steps in the guide below.
