How should I best unlock old version 1.1.2 edge??

Hey all ....

Really need to unlock an older version edge (1.1.2)
I know I want to avoid current upgrade (3.5) , but can I upgrade incrementally to a version best for jailbreak/ unlock??
....and then which crack app what be best to use redsn0w ?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure the edge iPhone is completely unlockable and jailbreakable from now on

Yeah im pretty sure 2g iphones are always unlockable.

Yes, you can update to the latest firmware (3.1.3, not 3.5) and unlock and jailbreak to your heart's content.
