I usually edit most of my RAW photos and videos on my desktop PC, and I'd like to have a copy of my images/video/files folders stored on my Desktop PC on my rMBP so I can use them on the go.

when my desktop and laptop are both windows pc, I can simply backup those folders from desktop to a external HDD using viceversa pro, and then connect the HDD to my laptop and mirror those file to my laptop folders (and I backup my files on my laptop to the same external HDD as well).

now I'm planning to buy a rMBP, and I have no idea how I can achieve the same with rMBP. I have formatted my external HDD in exFAT format so it can be read/write by both PC and Mac, and I can backup my desktop the same way with same application, but I have no idea how to mirror the files from external HDD to Mac.

any suggestions of suitable software?

Thanks
