My local Apple store had people waiting at 7:00pm today. I'm not real sure why, but there they were.

I heard an employee say they get shipments every day so you *should* be able to walk in early and get what you want.

I was able to walk into an Apple Store today and bought a 5s. For the record, this was around 10:30 am at the Southlake store in Texas. They were generally pretty good about making sure a line wasn't forming outside the door by being prompt about helping customers. Didn't seem like there was any gold from what I heard, and silver seemed a bit sparse, but space gray was in abundance.
