I'm aware that Amazon doesn't carry iPads, but their the resellers do. How soon would they start selling them on Amazon? The same week? A month later?

I'm asking because I have the amount to buy an iPad mini on my Amazon account that was acquired with gift cards, but I'd prefer to buy it right when it's released.

I thought with amazon gift cards you were only allowed to buy stuff that "ships from and sold by amazon"?

If the mini goes Retina, there are rumors of severe supply constraints through the holidays, so it may be a while until Amazon and co get a decent supply.

My guess is $25-50 mark up within the first few days. If they do hit that "Sold out everywhere" status after a few days or week. I'd say $100-200 more than usual.

This is assuming that it's third party vendors. If they're whole retailers expect +/- $15 of regular price.

I'm also going to be trying to snag one on amazon after release - but if not I've got an apple store that is not likely to be sold out (college town)

Main reason for buying off amazon is no tax ;)

Not a good place to buy that item

Ironically, this is one of the only items where this is the case

Better try anything else, even Ebay.

Yeah, while stuff on amazon is usually reasonable with free shipping I'm sure iPads on there will cost an arm and a leg from resellers.
