Sounds funny to say it lol I have a MBP and the screen hinge is very solid and takes a considerable force to open and close it. Feels very solid.

In comparison my new MacBook screen is super light to open and close, especially as it is close to being fully closed.

Just wondering if it should be as stiff as the MBP and mine is possibly loose?

I have a 2016 MBr m5 sitting right next to me as I type on the new 13" 2016 MBP (within 14 day return period and weighing the options between the two). I've had the 2016 for a while now and love this little guy but I sometimes hit a wall with processing power.

As to the hinges....

2016 MBr 12" m5: solid, nice feel, I like it a lot.
2016 MBR 13" no TB: same feel but a bit stiffer

My guess is the added stiffness is required for the larger display. Just a guess. They feel very similar in the 2016 models. Maybe 10% difference.
