How to activate Instant Hotspot?

I have Yosemite and iOS 8.1 in my iPhone 4S.

When I manually enable Personal Hotspot, my iPhone's name appears as normal in the Wi-Fi list, and I can connect normally. But when it's disabled, shouldn't there be an option in the Wi-Fi list to use it automatically?

Nothing is listed there.
What I am doing wrong?

Oh, I just found out the Instant Hotspot only works with iPhone 5 or better.
Nevermind then...

I'm not sure it will work with the 4S as it doesn't support Bluetooth 4.0
