how to add a airport express

so im using an airport extreme right now but wanted to boost my signal in my room so i wanted to know how to add an airport express. i bought it about 5 years ago, thinking i would use it then but never did. the "airport setup assistant" wont for me so im having some problems. it says "you cant use this version of the application Airport setup assistant with this version of mac os x"
i have airport setup assistant 4.2

this shouldnt be that hard maybe all i have to do it update the setup assistant? any help would be awsome!
