How to add favorites in OS 4?

I searched, but couldn't get an answer. When I access the phone app, there is a "favorites" category, but I haven't found a way to add favorites. I assume is basic, but can someone tell me how it's done. Thx

This is how I do it:
‘Phone’ app on iPhone
Open the ‘favorite’ tab
Press the ‘+’ sign on top left
Then you can choose which contact and which phone number to add to favorite. It syncs over to the phone app on the watch.

I have a bunch of favorites on the phone, but they aren't syncing to the watch. I've selected reset > reset sync data and it still hasn't synced. Any thoughts?

It took a full 24 hours, but the favorites finally synced.
