Ok so i borrowed a macbook pro from college over the weekend and usually i have no problem logging on with my username and password. you need to login at school because you have to connect to their server . i think its like a network drive , because you can login with the same username on any computer on campus and your same files will be there.
anyways i couldn't login at school , so i brought the laptop home. i was trying this thing,
--Instructions--
1. Reboot
2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
◦ mount -uw /
◦ rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
◦ shutdown -h now
4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old admin password and you're good to go again!
but it didnt work because because when i hold down apple-s nothing happens.. could it just be this laptop? because on other macbooks i did this and it worked and terminal showed up.
or any other suggestions from you guys?
